Rite Way Cleaning is a Maine based company
founded in 1967. In 2008, Rite Way Cleaning expanded company
operations to classing and washing natural fibers, using
environmentally friendly detergents. As the owners of Rite-Way
Scouring my wife Tina and I with the help of my sister Betsy
started from the beginning learning how to inventory raw fiber,
sort for washing and wash. Alpaca was our first experience and
now we have expanded into sheep’s wool. We look forward to
adding other exotic fibers to this list.As part of our initial
training, during the month of June, we worked with Ruth Elvestad
on grading/classing of Alpaca Fiber.
We very much look forward to serving the fiber producers of New
England and beyond. We are
conveniently located in Waldoboro,
Maine offering commercial scouring services for all natural
fibers. Operating a 4 bowl scouring system, Rite-Way currently
has the capacity to wash 200 to 300lbs. of raw fiber a day. The
drying process is usually completed in 24 hours, after this we
can bale your fiber and arrange for shipping to your mill of
choice.
Rite Way Scouring has also teamed up with Royal River Alpaca
Company for consulting and coordinating the fiber collection and
scouring services. We can support the production of both small
and medium sized fiber farms along with commercial production.
